Our Story

We are Jack and Jannie McBride and we planted the first apple seed in our orchard when our kids Jonas and Josiah were 4 and 6 years old.

Jack and I were teachers for approximately 23 years and in our eleventh year of marriage, Jack’s brother passed away. We wanted to honor his memory by planting something lasting. We decided to plant 200 fruit trees on my family’s farm. We did a lot of clearing old trees and rocks to establish a suitable acre orchard. In the process of digging one of the apple tree holes we discovered an 1853 one- cent coin which was super amazing because Jack was born 100 years later in 1953.

The orchard has been a wonderful gathering place for family and friends the past 30 years each fall. We would love for you to join our gathering and experience a fun fall outing with the McBride Tribe.
